About Outsmart Big Brother™

Outsmart Big Brother™ (OBB) is an educational content creation project by Jonathan McCormick, Jr. OBB creates videos, articles, and podcasts on how to overcome spying and censorship by using technology to one’s advantage. To view which social media platforms OBB posts to, please see our current list here.

“Big Brother” is a reference to George Orwell’s dystopian novel, “1984”, which has a setting of surveillance-empowered totalitarianism.

While it may be outside the ability of most people to “Outsmart” some of the most well-funded surveillance agencies in the world, the collective knowledge of humans who desire freedom has given rise to technologies which challenge even those agencies’ ability to invade individual privacy.

OBB is committed to helping promote the long-term welfare of humanity by equipping humans with the knowledge they need in order to preserve their freedom and privacy. In this Information and Intelligence Age, computer science is one of the most important categories of practical knowledge for making a positive difference in the world.

In the spirit of the FOSS Movement, OBB licenses all original content as Creative Commons Attribution. Find out more about licensing at our Terms of Service page.
